SANOFI

NET LEASE ACQUISITION

We represented the buyer of the 674,000 square foot corporate campus in Bridgewater, New Jersey leased to Sanofi’s U.S. subsidiary. The acquisition closed in January 2022. Sanofi is the world’s eighth largest pharmaceutical company with a global workforce of over 100,000.

SALE-LEASEBACK

During the summer of 2021, we represented the buyer-landlord in the sale-leaseback of a YMCA facility in Des Moines, Iowa. The successful closing of this transaction is helping the YMCA of Greater Des Moines continue its 150-year charitable history of providing recreation, housing, meals, education and scholarships to the community.

WALGREENS

SALE-LEASEBACKS

In February 2020, we represented the buyer-landlord in the sale-leaseback of 21 Walgreens stores in 12 states. In August 2022, we represented the buyer-landlord in the sale-leaseback of 59 Walgreens stores in 12 states. As an essential business, Walgreens never closed during the pandemic, and its long-term leaseback of these properties will enable it to continue to provide pharmacy and other health care services at these locations for many years to come.

PROTECTING CHURCH REAL ESTATE OWNERSHIP

APPELLATE ADVOCACY

We represented a church district in the enforcement of its denomination’s polity against a member church that decided to disaffiliate from the denomination. The member church sought to partition real estate that was owned by the denomination in accordance with its polity that all member churches’ property is held in trust for the benefit of the denomination. After a trial and an appeal, the denomination’s polity was successfully enforced, and partition of the church property was prevented.

 
 

SALE OF FOREIGN MANUFACTURER OF CELL PHONE CAMERA LENSES

MERGERS & ACQUISITIONS

We represented a company based in mainland China in its acquisition by a Taiwanese company. Our client manufactured high quality lenses for cell phone cameras. We had previously represented the client in five rounds of venture capital financing totaling over $50 million.
